Firm Negotiates $40M Ski Resort Hotel Agreement

We represented an architecture firm in AIA Document B101-2017, Agreement Between Owner and Architect, negotiations for a mixed-use development in an exclusive ski town with a hotel component exceeding 150 guest rooms and a residential component with over 90 units, incorporating LEED certification requirements. The project involved multiple buildings and a parking facility designed for hundreds of vehicles; target construction costs were in the $40M range, with an architect fee of approximately $2.5 million. The contract addressed coordination with a separate design-build team responsible for the earth retention system, defining responsibilities and integration with the architect’s design. We also negotiated related AIA Document C401-2017, Agreement Between Architect and Consultant.
