How We Got Here

Jeremy S. Baker built this firm to give clients what matters most: contracts that protect them, disputes that resolve quickly, and projects that succeed. Since 2019, we have represented over 200 clients on projects totaling billions in hard construction value.

Before founding the firm in 2019, Jeremy spent nearly 14 years at Schiff Hardin LLP (now ArentFox Schiff LLP), an Am Law 200 firm with over 300 attorneys across seven offices nationwide. A partner in Schiff Hardin LLP’s nationally recognized Construction Law Group, he worked on major design and construction projects with budgets reaching into the hundreds of millions and billions of dollars. Guided by top-tier construction attorney mentors, Jeremy saw how sophisticated clients structure deals and manage risk at the highest level. He advised on contracts and project delivery methods – but was known for resolving major disputes through mediation, arbitration, and litigation.

Earlier in his career, Jeremy practiced at Cozen O’Connor P.C., an Am Law 100 global firm with over 1,000 lawyers in over 25 offices. He focused on large-loss property subrogation, representing some of the world’s largest insurance companies on a contingency fee basis. He litigated across seven Midwestern states, handled nearly 100 depositions in just four years, and learned that winning quickly was the name of the game. That trial-by-fire shaped his philosophy: drive adversaries into early settlements and keep clients moving forward – so they can design, construct and transact – rather than get tied up in years of litigation.

Those experiences, combined with years of hands-on work for developers, owners, design-builders, and design professionals, led to the founding of this firm, where the emphasis is always on helping clients build with confidence and resolve problems cost-effectively.
