FOR PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND LOCAL CHAPTERS
This resource library was created to be linked directly to the websites of professional organizations serving architects, engineers, and allied design professionals.
We encourage national, state, and local chapters to link to this page – or to individual guides – from their resource pages, member portals, newsletters, and educational listings so members can access these materials as part of their everyday professional practice.
If you do not find answers to your questions on this page, please run a keyword search. Our website contains hundreds of pages addressing common legal and risk-related issues design professionals face.
The guides and templates collected here are intended to function as public, website-linkable reference materials that design professional organizations can point members to when recurring contract, risk, and project-delivery questions arise in practice.
These materials are designed to live alongside other professional guidance commonly curated by organizations serving the design and construction industry, including contract resources, practice guides, and educational materials maintained for member use.
We encourage professional organizations, chapters, firms, and educators to link directly to this library and to individual guides from their own websites.
These resources are designed to be referenced in the same way as other profession-focused materials typically maintained by industry organizations, including placement on:
How to link to a resource:
Linking to these resources helps members access consistent, profession-focused information, while also contributing to a shared, publicly accessible body of reference material for the architectural and engineering community.
This Professional Resource Library was created for architects, engineers, and allied design professionals- and for the professional organizations that support them.
It is intended to be particularly useful for national, state, and local professional associations, including organizations that provide education, advocacy, credentialing, and practice guidance to design professionals, and that maintain member-facing resource pages.
We are especially interested in supporting local and regional chapters that curate practical tools and guidance for members navigating real-world contract, risk, and project-delivery issues.
Baker Law Group LLC is a law firm focused on legal issues affecting architects, engineers, and other design professionals involved in the planning and delivery of construction projects.
The firm regularly works with design professionals in connection with owner–architect agreements, consultant agreements, and design-build and integrated project delivery arrangements.
These materials are intended as general educational resources for architects and allied design professionals and are not legal advice. Each project and contract presents unique considerations that require project-specific issue spotting, professional judgment, and thoughtful customization of contract language and overall approach.
If your organization or local chapter maintains a resource page for members and would like us to prepare additional materials on other topics, please let us know. We are also happy to collaborate on educational programming, including virtual lunch-and-learn presentations or similar sessions for members.
We are always looking for opportunities to support and engage with the design professional community.
