We represented an architecture firm to negotiate an AIA Document B108–2009, Agreement Between Owner and Architect for a Federally Funded or Federally Insured Project, for a 57-unit multi-family senior housing development. This contract, for a substantial fee, involved navigating the complexities of the B108–2009 agreement, given the project’s federal funding. Aware of the need to address federal regulations, our negotiations focused on securing favorable terms commensurate with the project’s size and scope. We negotiated provisions regarding payment schedules aligned with project milestones, a scope of services tailored to the project’s needs, and a dispute resolution process suitable for a project of this nature. This approach aimed to secure a significant fee for our client and set a sound framework for project execution.
