Architect Advised on Multi-Project Dispute Amidst Owner’s Legal Turmoil

We counseled an architecture firm facing significant payment issues on four projects, in four cities, after the client company’s leadership became embroiled in legal disputes. With substantial outstanding fees owed, we provided strategic guidance on navigating the complex situation, including leveraging mechanics lien laws, pursuing arbitration and litigation, and partnering with other affected stakeholders, such as the general contractor. Our counsel considered the firm’s own obligations to its subconsultants to ensure a comprehensive and effective strategy, ultimately result in in our firm recording a mechanics lien to secure our client’s claim for payment.
