We developed a new two-part contracting strategy for a top-tier landscape architecture firm, creating streamlined, sales-friendly templates for their design and construction administration services. Part 1 covers Programming and Schematic Design phases with simplified terms and conditions. Part 2, executed as an amendment, addresses Design Development, Construction Documents, Construction Administration (offering both traditional limited and more comprehensive options), project close-out, and ongoing landscape management. It includes detailed attachments addressing scope, responsibilities, insurance requirements, and construction contract riders, along with robust terms and conditions to mitigate risk during later project phases. This custom approach provides legal and contractual best practices tailored to the firm’s specific business model, enhancing client engagement while mitigating risk.
