We developed a comprehensive contracting strategy for an architecture firm in a prominent mountain resort town, providing it with custom contract templates, both AIA and non-AIA. They included our custom edits to these documents: AIA Document B101-2017, Agreement Between Owner and Architect; AIA Document A201-2017, General Conditions of the Contract for Construction; AIA Document C401-2017, Agreement Between Architect and Consultant; and non-AIA equivalents. This equipped the firm to handle diverse projects efficiently – allowing its non-attorney staff to prepare and negotiate most of its contracts without project-specific legal advice, requesting help from our lawyers only on complex projects or contract negotiations – reducing legal expenses and protecting their interests.
