We advised an architecture firm on a dispute with a former employer about allegations of plagiarism related to a recent project. The dispute implicated the AIA Code of Ethics and the possibility of state ethics complaints, based on the firm’s representation of its principals’ titles and licensure status. We counseled the firm, positioning them to defend against these allegations while simultaneously pursuing early, cost-efficient dispute avoidance, ultimately diffusing the situation and preventing escalation.
