Firm Guides Architect’s Exit from Project with Unqualified Builder

We represented an architecture firm in a project where, after design completion, concerns arose regarding the general contractor’s qualifications and ability to execute the design. To proactively avoid potential claims which would no doubt ensue from the builder’s anticipated mistakes, the firm negotiated a contract modification with the project owner, reducing the architect’s construction administration scope and project involvement, and granting the owner a license to use the design documents, to secure a proactive release of any potential future claims against our architect client.
