We represented an architecture firm to negotiate an AIA Document B101-2017, Agreement Between Owner and Architect, for a project involving the renovation of a 69,000 sq ft, six-story multi-family residential building. The scope includes converting existing residential units into a mix of updated apartment types, along with upgrades to building systems and amenities. The renovation also addressed energy efficiency and sustainability, with a construction budget of about $17 million. Our client’s responsibilities, for which it was paid around a $1.2 million fee, encompassed architectural design as well as structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering.
