We represented an architecture firm to negotiate an AIA Document B101-2017, Agreement Between Owner and Architect, for the design of an early childhood learning academy. The project involved renovating an existing 24,000 sq ft building and constructing a 15,000 sq ft addition. The owner, a community organization, had a construction budget of about $10.5 million. The design fee exceeded $700,000 and included not just architecture, from schematic design to design development, to construction documents to construction administration, but also supplemental services for civil engineering, landscape architecture, kitchen design, and low-voltage and telecommunications consulting.
