We represented an architecture firm to negotiate a custom Scope Reduction and Release Agreement for a large-scale, 10-building project with a construction budget exceeding $40 million. The agreement successfully extricated the architect from further project responsibilities following the completion of a substantial portion of their work. This mutually beneficial agreement allowed the owner to pursue a streamlined project close-out process, while protecting our client from potential future liabilities. The agreement preserved the owner’s payment obligations to the architect for services rendered and defined the termination of the architect’s responsibilities, releasing it from potential liability.
