Global Architecture Firm Counseled on Fee Collection Strategies

We advised one of the world’s largest architecture firms regarding a fee dispute on a historic hotel renovation project. Our advice focused on collection options, including mechanics lien enforcement and litigation strategy, considering the complex interplay of various stakeholders and encumbrances, such as lenders, affecting lien priority. To help with negotiation and potential dispute resolution, we also drafted a promissory note, a personal guarantee from the individuals associated with the ownership entity, and a supporting corporate resolution. The project itself involved the comprehensive interior redesign and conversion of an existing office building into a full-service hotel.
