Mountain West Office Build Out Agreement with Cost Controls

We represented a project owner to negotiate an AIA Document A102–2017, Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Contractor where the basis of payment is the Cost of the Work Plus a Fee with a Guaranteed Maximum Price, for a commercial office project in the Mountain West. The contract, incorporating AIA Document A201-2017, General Conditions of the Contract for Construction, included enhanced provisions regarding general conditions costs, buyout procedures, open-book bidding, contingency allocation, and schedules of value to give the owner greater cost control, transparency, and overall project clarity.
