We recorded an $800,000 mechanics lien for a design-build firm related to renovations on a condominium building in a major metropolitan area. The project involved a comprehensive scope of work, affecting various residential and commercial units, as well as property common elements. The complex ownership structure, including individual unit owners, the condominium association, and lenders, required allocation of the dollar amount of the mechanics’ lien to assign liened dollars to each individual interest and location within the building. After attempts to secure an amicable settlement proved unsuccessful, we sued to foreclose the mechanics lien, ultimately obtaining a successful outcome for our client.
