Owner-Contractor Agreement for Building at Property Line

We represented a general contractor to negotiate an Owner-Contractor Agreement for residential construction project involving excavation near a property line. Because of the potential complexities and liabilities associated with this work, we incorporated provisions that assigned responsibility to the owner and its attorneys for complying with the Illinois Adjacent Landowner Excavation Protection Act (765 ILCS 140/0.01 et seq.) and Chapter 13-32 of the Chicago Municipal Code.
