New Hotel Casino Interior Design and Architecture Agreement

We represented an architecture and interior design firm to negotiate a comprehensive services agreement with the project owner for a new casino hotel. The agreement includes architecture from concept design through construction administration, as well as interior design, including furniture, furnishings, and equipment (FF&E) selection and installation oversight, with a design fee of about $1.5 million. The scope includes a detailed design phase for the hotel’s architecture, followed by bidding and negotiation assistance, and construction administration with up to several dozen site visits. The interior design phase incorporates a model hotel room process for finalizing design details. The agreement addresses compliance with gaming laws and regulations, reflecting the project’s casino context. It also navigates intellectual property rights, outlining ownership and licensing terms for design documents, and includes a construction phase rider to define responsibilities and procedures during the construction process.
